Titles: Runaway Retriever, Loudest Beagle On The Block, Mud-Puddle Poodle and Bulldog Won't Budge
Author: T. T. Sutherland
Ages: 8-13

The Pet Trouble series of books by author T. T. Sutherland is all about dogs who just can't seem to behave themselves! The hilarious books in this series relates the sometimes-complicated love-not-quite-hate-but-close relationship lots of kids have with their pets.

Book #1: Runaway Retriever

Parker's new golden retriever Merlin is a guy's best friend, with tons of energy for walks and playing catch. And Merlin clearly thinks Parker is the best thing since rawhide bones. There's just one problem. Merlin is an escape artist. No fence is too high, no cage too strong to keep him from following Parker everywhere he goes. Can Parker make Merlin sit – and stay?

Book #2: Loudest Beagle On The Block

Ella spends all her time inside, practicing her music for the school talent show. But with her new beagle, Trumpet, she's starting to make new friends and see a whole world away from the piano bench. There's just one problem. Every time Ella starts to sing, Trumpet howls. Loudly. If Ella doesn't lose her canine costar, she doesn't stand a chance at the show – but can tone-deaf Trumpet tone it down?

Book #3: Mud-Puddle Poodle

When she finally gets a dog of her own, Rosie knows it's going to be perfect – unlike everything else in her chaotic house with four crazy brothers. There's just one problem. Buttons hates her fancy dog pillow, but she loves a good, dirty pile of leaves! Rosie's new pet is her complete opposite. Can she ever learn to live with this mess of a dog?

Book #4: Bulldog Won't Budge

Eric has always wanted a dog. So when a bulldog named Meatball is abandoned at his mother's veterinarian office, Eric is sure it's fate – he can give Meatball a new home! There's just one problem. Meatball is stubborn. And slow. Eric wants to go to the park and play fetch, but Meatball likes to lie in the grass and drool. Is there anything Eric can do to get this bulldog to budge?

"Double" Pet Trouble Book Reviews - Kidzworld

    Posted: 21 Oct 2009 10:14 AM PDT

    Author: T. T. Sutherland

Pet Trouble is a brand-new book series by an author named T. T. Sutherland. Every book in the Pet Trouble series features the story of a different dog – and the owner that loves him or her. In this book review, we'll be looking at two of the books in the series: Runaway Retriever and Loudest Beagle On The Block.

    Runaway Retriever

This is a story about a kid named Parker whose older sister adopts a dog for him when she leaves for college (she doesn't want him to be lonely without her). Well, the dog Parker ends up with is a golden retriever named Merlin – a totally playful and totally fun pooch. And even though Parker didn't ask to adopt or take care of Merlin, he really loves his new canine pal. He and Merlin are completely inseperable…

    Literally.

You see, whenever Parker tries to leave without Merlin – to go to school, play baseball with his friends or anything else that a dog can't really join in on – the dog follows him. In fact, Parker quickly discovers that Merlin won't let anything stand in the way of him going wherever his new master goes. Fences are no problem for Merlin, and there isn't a cage in the world strong enough to hold him in.

Read Runaway Retriever and find out whether or not Parker manages to teach Merlin how to sit and, more importantly, STAY!

    Loudest Beagle On The Block

This is the second book in the Pet Trouble series by T. T. Sutherland. This time, the story is about another less-than-perfect pet: a beautiful beagle named Trumpet. While sitting and staying aren't really a problem for this girl, she does have a really bad – and really LOUD – habit of howling at the very top of her lungs whenever her owner's niece, a 10-year-old girl named Ella, tries to practice her singing for the upcoming school talent show.

Now, if you've ever lived next door to (or maybe even WITH) a howling dog, you know how disturbing it can be. When it comes to Trumpet, Ella's neighbors are all complaining and, even worse, Ella has no idea how she's ever going to be able to get her singing voice in top shape for the talent show if she can't get in a single moment of practice at home.

To find out how Ella is supposed to win the talent show when all she can hear every time she practices her singing is AAOOOWWAAAOOOOOO, read The Loudest Beagle On The Block.
