| Visegrad Review Welcomes Submissions for 2010 Issue - PR.com Posted: 02 Jan 2010 12:02 AM PST Ottawa, Canada, January 02, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Visegrad Review--an interdisciplinary, academic journal focusing on the history, politics, society, culture and economy of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia--welcomes essay submissions for its April 2010 issue. The English-language journal will appear in printed format, as well as online. Submissions should be no longer than 25 pages in length (excluding citations) and must include complete bibliographic endnotes. All essays must be original, unpublished works that are not under review or consideration by other journals or publishers. Please send your submission as an e-mail attachment and include a short biography of 250 words or less detailing your educational experience, academic or professional position, research interests and any other credentials. While they are especially keen to publish essays on transnational issues that impact the Visegrad Group as a whole, the Review also welcomes papers and book reviews focusing on individual member states. | Get C-J news on the go - Courier-Journal Posted: 02 Jan 2010 12:02 AM PST Dan Fitzgerald has been submitting cartoons to The Courier-Journal since 2006, and his work has appeared in The Best Editorial Cartoons of the Year yearbook. A political independent, Dan is a native of Elizabeth, Ind., who grew up reading the cartoons of Hugh Haynie in The Courier-Journal. He is a freelance designer and illustrator, and is also a partner in a fabrication business that specializes in interactive exhibits. Scott Coffman has been drawing cartoons for The Courier-Journal since 2008, one of many roles he has played at this newspaper. In 1999, he was a Forum Fellow, a member of the advisory panel to the C-J editorial board. Scott's work has also appeared in The Best Editorial Cartoons of the Year yearbooks. Over the years he has contributed more than 100 book reviews for our books page. In real life, he is inventory manager at Borders' Books & Music at the Shelbyville Road Plaza.
